"God Himself was once as we are now, and is an exalted man..."

Hooray, for our Mormon friends and their emporium at the junction of Oregon and University, on the UTEP Campus!

¡Adelante, los DESTINO de UTEP!

Attributed source: the so - called King Follett Discourse, preached shortly before his death (in 1844) by the Mormon founder (and prophet) Joseph Smith, purpotedly located within this work: Teachings of the Prophet Joseph Smith, section 6.

Any casually interested UTEP student is welcome to ask for a free copy of this book at this same Mormon Institute, right across from the UTEP Baptist Student Center.

As author -- and convert to Catholicism -- Steve Clifford tells us in his article included in Patrick Madrid's Surprised by Truth 2, pages 113 - 114:

"These official LDS teachings that there were at least three gods and that God the Father was merely an exalted man in yonder heavens I had always taken for granted.

"But as I studied the issue, my polytheistic views vanished."
