"Swine flu may close campus"

"UTEP may shut down campus activities if the city's health department recommends it to protect the community from swine flu, said task force officials.

"[S]aid Robert Moss, co-chair of a task force created to monitor the swine flue outbreak, They would essentially come to us and suggest closure or partial closure, depending on the assessment that they make of the risk that could be present on the campus.

"There are 22 suspected cases of swine flu in El Paso County, but none of those have been confirmed.

"Samples from these cases were sent to the U.S. Center for Disease Control and Prevention in Atlanta, and the results are expected May 6.

"Moss said 90 percent of the confirmed cases in Texas involved people under 19 years old.

"The state of Chihuahua health officials reported two cases in Ciudad Juárez May 1..."
