So what if it's all garbled & incomplete?

Composed by someone with inadequate English literacy skills?

For all they were most likely both born and educated in America? :)

Sunday's unedited flyer still brings great news!

To Brackettville's Saint Mary Magdalene's Catholic Parish!

First of all, the three (3) scheduled Brackettville Masses were none of them served by less that two(2) Altar Servers each.

Saturday, October 3. 2009. 5:30 p.m. Mass. TEAM Mr. Jerry Lee DeHoyos & Ms. Samantha DeHoyos + Ms. Danielle Gerardo.

Sunday, October 4, 2009. 8:00 a.m. Mass. TEAM Dos compadrecitos, ambos cuatitos muy en serio....

Sunday, October 4, 2009. 10:30 a.m. Mass. TEAM Who knows? There were maybe from 2o to 25 + good young people there on time to do their by now legendary thing!

AND SO, HERE'S OUR FREE - FORM IMPROVISED RENDITION OF THE ORIGINAL FLYER'S PAGE ONE:

"INSTALLATION OF NEW ALTAR SERVERS

"Four volunteers trained to serve the Altar this year are now becoming Knights of the Altar.

"[Additionally, there are those servers who are] being invested with the surplice.

"[They] are:"

Here follows a botched list of misspelled names. Plus, it seems that yet other names were left out altogether. I'm basing this little item on my own personal observations, based in turn on a head count we did in front of the main door to the church just before second Mass at 10:30 a.m.

And then, here comes about the only thing on that all - important front page that seems like it was done right!

But which makes everything else more than merely worthwhile..

"St. Mary Magdalene Church has over 400 Masses each year that the Knights of the Altar serve for our community in worship.

"We thank these youth for their commitment to assist at Mass..."

And for yours truly, anyway, it's these last two lines that about sum the whole thing up! :)

Like that favorite quote of mine from Sacred Scripture, ACTS 2:16.

Where Saint Peter is quoting from the equally prophetic lines of Joel 2:28 -- or at least that's what I hope he is doing -- since we're scribbling this from memory...:)

And what Saint Peter was telling us back then in ACTS 2:16, all these bright young Altar Servers -- along with their equally young and dedicated parents, teachers, clergy and mentors -- are telling us right here at Saint Mary Magdalene's Catholic Church today...

Believe it or not... :)
