UTEP Spring Semester 2012: Moving right along!

"President Diana Natalicio conducted a ceremony January 20 recognizing the people involved in the construction of the largest solar PV (photovoltaic) arrays in El Paso when combined.

"One of the panels is placed on top of the Student Recreation Center and is 108 kilowatts.

"The second panel is located in the parking lot of the Facilities Services Building and is 78 kilowatts.

"Together the panels will produce enough energy to sustain about 53 residential homes and will save the campus about $28,000 a year, according to Ralph Martinez, Director of Energy Initiatives ..."
