"So? How does the law define HUMAN, then?"

Source: Same as below. But! Again: watch out for the coming differences between 1951 and the Roe vs. Wade fallout, post-1973.

"HUMAN. As a noun, a human being; a member of the family of mankind. As an adjective, pertaining to, or characteristic of man or of mankind, having the qualities or attributes of man; also pertaining to the sphere, nature, or faculties of man, relative or proper to mankind; mundane, secular, not divine (46)."

"Phrases employing the word, as a noun,or as an adjective, are listed in the note (47)."

"47. Phrases construed.

(3) 'Human being,' as applied to an unborn child. -- Scott v. McPheeters, 92 P. 2d 678, 681, 33 Cal. App. 2d. 629."

End of this next fragment of real-life U.S. legal history -- End of this ...etc.
