UTEP's so-called Ho-Gate Scandal -- still rockin' along??

"Former El Paso FBI Chief Gets 6 Months in Prison"

Was it him that "fixed" the UTEP Professors Sid Das, Eppie Rael, Gasanov & Gasanova Organized Transnational Prostitution Case?

Or was it a crooked member of the US Attorney's Office for West Texas?

Perhaps under pressure from UTEP President Diana Natalicio and the University of Texas System Board of Regents in Austin, Texas?

Associated Press/Albuquerque Journal headline Friday, January o5, 2007.

Check it out below!

This case is hard to swallow..but nonetheless illustrates the justice system is still very much black and white.

So true!

There's a lot of what our favorie UTEP English professor of Detective Fiction calls "Laugh-out loud Detective Fiction" in this entire case, starting with the UTEP Gang of Four (professors) and thengoing on into the Crawford prosecution.

One female prsecutor demanded of Crawford how it was his wife was getting $5,000 dollars a month form the other guy in "public relations," when she herself hadn't held a job in something like 18 years!

(Heh, heh, heh!)

Both UTEP professors managed to get the key word "unwittingly" or was it "unwitting?" inserted into the record.

Thus, that the two Russian thugs got the clink and they walked.

Yet both the online transcripts and one ding-a-ling own UTEP website give the lie to "not knowing what the Russian swere up to."

Gasanov (the male) was an expert in Cobra venom-- right out of a Tony Hillerman novel, no?

He threatened one of his Uzbeki employees -- according to what the FBI's own info tells us -- that his own brother was still active in the Uzbeki KGB and could "do a job on her family back in Uzbekistan" if she went to the feds, or whatever.

Both Gasanov and his wife Gasanova played a key role in UTEP Eppie Rael's rising fortunes in the scientific community, as Rael's own website makes clear!

Thanks for your input!

Dennis

It seems that reality is stranger than fiction.
