"Fraud prevention in your hands"

¡Ora, UTEP!

¡Ora, MEChA!

¡Adelante!

¡Camaradas y Compañeras!

¡Adelante, DESTINO!

Adapted from Ms. Catherine Cromer, The UTEP Prospector, March 18, 2008.

"An estimated 10 million people have become the victims of fraud within the U.S. and many students ar eputting themselves needlessly at risk."

Indeed as Ms. Elizabeth Justice, UTEP Director of the Office of Scholarships puts it succintly:

"We encourage students to double check any information they get about scholarships which ask them to pay to make sure it is a legal organization."

She then adds:

"We have all the information students need here at the office.

"Students can always check with us."

Our intrepid reporter then concludes:

"For more information about how to prevent identity theft, visit the UTEP Police Department's Web site at:

www.utep.edu/police ."
