"Today's Catholic" w / Ms. Cynthia Castillo in Sydney, Australia:

"Receive the power of the Holy Spirit"

Adapted from this source: The official San Antonio Archdiocesan newspaper, "Today's Catholic," above named article by Cynthia Castillo, August 1, 2008.

"Setting the tone for World Youth Day 2008 at the opening Mass, Cardinal George Pell, archbishop of Sydney, was very warm and welcoming, but did not sugarcoat anything for the youth when he stated that life eventually destroys any possibility of neutrality, prompting the youth to contemplate where they stand in regards to their faith and if they are willing to take the next step in their faith.

"With their faith and the Holy Spirit as their focus, pilgrims of WYD journeyed throughout the week taking part in daily Mass, Eucharistic adoration, Stations of the Cross and various youth gatherings.

"The pinnacle of the WYD experience is the vigil prayer service and concluding Mass both celebrated by the Holy Father.

"Being in the presence of the Holy Father is an amazing and surreal experience.

"Pope Benedict XVI was ever encouraging to the youth of the world and delivered a strong inspirational message to open their hearts to the Holy Spirit and to focus on what kind of church they will leave for future generations..."

A good read!!
