"Homecoming Rocks UTEP"
Ms. Vanessa Juarez has the story, in The UTEP Prospector, October 7, 2008.
The caption to UTEP's Mr. Jacob Torres's photo tells us:
"Mr. Anthony Bartholomew, from Phi Mu Alpha, was crowned Homecoming King Oct. 5 at Magoffin Auditorium"
¡Ora, MEChA! ¡Adelante, DESTINO! ¡Ora, UTEP!
"An article published by Forbes.com in August said UTEP was ranked 365th best college in the United States.
"Forbes.com annual report, America's Best Colleges 2008 ranks colleges according to how they scored on five main variables.
"Ohio University professor Richard Vedder, who holds a doctorate in economics, collected the data and conducted the research for the article along with a group of student research associates, including Matthew Denhart, a junior at Ohio University.
"Denhart said, It is clear that UTEP does especially well in terms of debt at graduation, of students taking out loans to finance their education, the average debt after four years was only $10,360."
Wow! ¡Guau!
Hey, Vanessa, you there??
So, what happens to the estimated 95 1/2 percent of UTEP undergrads that don't complete a degree in four(4) years??!!
Or, at least who didn't, as recently as Spring 2006?
Maybe that's why even your well - done article points out that UTEP ranked 411th in the number of students who graduate in four(4) years, and number 431th out of 569 colleges in the category of alumni post - graduate success!
Still and all, though, a good, timely read, o.k.? OK!
