Our very own free - wheeling adaptation from a front page courtesy - color photo caption, in The Brackett News. Thursday, January 15, 2009.

"A Brackettville native, the Rev. Mr. Clay Hunt, Transitional Deacon, was at long last fully ordained into the Roman Catholic priesthood on Saturday, January 10 in San Antonio, Texas, by an Opus Dei prelate, the Most Reverend José Horacio Gómez, Archbishop of San Antonio, who was himself formerly Titular Bishop of Belali, an ancient and most likely by now -- thanks to our Islamic brethren -- long - extinct episcopal see, until his own promotion from a bishop in Denver, Colorado, to an archbishop in Texas.

"Rev. Clay, the first ever priest from Brackettville, offered his first Mass of Celebration at St. Mary Magdalene, his hometown parish on Sunday, January 11, 2009, starting promptly at 3:00 p.m.

"Many people attended the ordination in San Antonio and hundreds of good folks -- both Catholics and non - Catholics alike -- attended the local mass.

"A fine, sit - down dinner followed at Fort Clark Springs in honor of this special occasion."
