"UTEP students owe the University Library about $102,000 as of May 5.

"Of that figure, undergraduates owe 78 percent, which makes $79,000.

"Currently there are approximately 45,157 registered undergraduate and graduate students who use the library.

"Students had not returned more than 7,800 items when the report was generated..."
