"Big changes are in progress at the Union Building this summer, including more conference space, a high - tech kiosk and an expanded student lounge area.

"Other modifications include renovations that will bring the building up to date with fire and Americans with Disabilities Act compliance codes.

"[S]aid Ofelia Dominguez, director of Union Services, The bookstore has moved out and with that we've had the opportunity to examine what we want to bring in for the students.

"[S]aid Paola Felix, sophomore general music major, I think this new student lobby will attract more students to come after their classes and relax because it will be a new place to be at.

"[S]aid Ruben Rodriguez, senior biological sciences major This will be a good thing for UTEP and the Student Union...."
