UTEP Prospector's Mr. Alex Morales has the story...

Buckram breaks school rushing record in losing effort, has pivotal giveaways...

¡Adelante, Alex!

¡Ora, UTEP!

¡Ora, MEChA!

¡Adelante, DESTINO!

From the November 24, 2009 hard copy issue..

"The UTEP Miners looked to end their three - game losing streak to the Rice Owls as they headed to Houston for an afternoon showdown, but after leading for most of the game and up 29 - 17 with 12 minutes left in the fourth quarter, UTEP stumbled and allowed Rice to come back to win 30 - 29.

"Despite the loss, Donald Buckram was able to set a new single - season rushing record for UTEP, breaking the previous record that withstood 61 [sic!] years and was set by Fred Wendt in 1946.

"Buckram now has 1,569 yards, passing the previous mark of 1,546 yards..."

'Way to go, Donald!!

Heck of a great game you gentlemen played, no matter what!
