"Overshadowed by the heated debate over health care reform. a dramatic change was made that no longer allows students to receive federal loans from private banks.

"Students will now have to rely on the government to provide funding for student education loans.

"President Barack Obama's administration made another controversial move by adding student loan reform to the health care reform bill that was signed into law on March 23.

"Steven Mays, sophomore metallurgical engineering major, said he believes that reform is needed to help students pay for college and eliminate the huge debt many will face once they graduate from school..."
