"Del Rio Sector agents seize more than 800 pounds of pot"

"DEL RIO, Texas -- U.S. Border Patrol Agents from Del Rio Sector made two marijuana seizures over the past couple of days totaling more than 800 pounds, with an estimated street value of $670,000."

ONE EXAMPLE:

"Monday evening, agents from the Del Rio Border Patrol Station working on a ranch east of town spotted several people carrying large packs toward Highway 90 East.

"A short time later, agents arrested three Mexican nationals hiding in heavy brush.

"A canine unit arrived on scene and located five large bundles hidden nearby.

"The bundles contained 180 individually - wrapped packages of marijuana with a total weight of 380 pounds."

HERE'S ANOTHER SNIPPET:

"Tuesday morning, agents from the Carrizo Springs Border Patrol Station discovered more than 460 pounds of marijuana hidden in a Dodge [?!] ... after a canine alerted to the bed of the truck.

"Six military - style duffel bags were hidden underneath plywood and mesquite wood.

"The driver, a 37 year - old Georgetown man, and one Eagle Pass resident were arrested.

"The contraband has an estimated value of $
368,000.

"The subjects and marijuana from both seizures were turned over to the Drug Enforcement Administration..."
