"Uvalde BP thwarts smuggling attempt"

"U.S. Border Patrol agents assigned to the Uvalde Station seized 77 pounds of marijuana, valued at more than $62,000.

"A 50 - year - old San Antonio man was arrested and turned over to the Uvalde County Sheriff's Office."


"Del Rio BP seizes more than 400 pounds of pot"


"DEL RIO, TEXAS --- U.S. Border Patrol Agents from Del Rio Sector made two marijuana seizures over the weekend totaling 440 pounds, with an estimated street value of $381,000."

And in one case:

"The driver of the truck then pulled over to the side of the road, abandoned the vehicle, jumped into the river and swam into Mexico..."
