Tampico, Tamaulipas: Elements of the Fifth Infantry Battalion captured around ten (10) persons yesterday -- "suspected of involvement in organized delinquency."

Naturally, having had the bad luck to have been taken while still more or less alive and breathing, all suspects readily furnished authentic personal documentation, with the result that each person's full and complete name was promptly broadcast far and wide... :)

While no mention was made of weapons captured, the on site live radio report made it clear that at least several detainees were believed to be big fish, indeed!

Last night, while munching on PICO's fried chicken, we listened as his on - air comments ran roughly along these lines:

"It's not enough that cosmetic changes are being made in firing a handful of police personnel only to have them re - hired someplace else.

"Because such superficial actions aren't going to solve the problem of corruption.

"Instead, the problem of endemic police corruption must be dealt with from the very roots ..."
