Wow! ยกGuau!

Our priestly informants for our "Borderland's Prologue" were right on the money!

And we wrote all that in this, our first draft dated Monday, February 4, 2008:

"As regards the last, knowledgeable laity gave the impression that their priestly sources were convinced that certain lawyers with nominal fidelity to the archbishop himself were quietly washing their hands of at least two major sex scandals still in the pre - public opening phase..."

Now, however!

As Mr. Abe Levy and Mr. Todd Bensman's article Marianists settle suits for $4 millon in their MySA online entry for 10/30/2008 9:28 CDT tells us:

"[Ex - Marianist brother William] Mueller is considered one of the more harmful sexual predators in the Catholic Church ..."

But!

A sidebar for the hard copy version of the San Antonio EXPRESS - NEWS for Friday's Metro section dated October 31, 2008 makes it clear that up to 2001, Mueller was the organist / choir director / who - knows - what - else with St. John Neuman's Church in the immediate San Antonio area, in Windcrest to be exact, where I attended Mass any number of times from the mid - 1980s up to 1992 - 1994, at least on an occasional basis, before moving to South San.

In fact, I recall helping those fine 'ole retired officers mow grass and trim the grounds a time or two.

Enter the Lavender Mafia's possible involvement, albeit only so far as the then St. John Neumann's pastor, the Most Rev. Robert "Bob" Silverman seems to have "overlooked something":

Monsignor Robert "Bob" Silverman would most certainly have known about his organist's flaky past and that Brother Mueller had been "allowed" to resign from his religious order.

So?

"So," indeed!

Was this "vincible ignorance" on the part of the then - pastor the result of some archdiocesan Lavender Mafia operation, or was Mons. Silverman himself (along with his fine hard- charging somewhat - elderly yet very dedicated and outspoken Father Vicar, Fr. Rusaw) acting under the direct orders of the - then Archbishop of San Antonio, Texas, Archbishop Patricio Flores?

Because if so, and if the then - archbishop was himself subject to Lavender Mafia pressure, blackmail, and overall shake - downs, rest assured it would most certainly not have been related in any shape or form to sex, spelled s - e - x, but rather it would have been related to money, spelled m-o-n-e-y.

La lana ...

This is based on phone calls we were getting, most likely in around mid 1986 - to early 1987 .

And these phone calls furnished us with some very, very detailed information.

Information in turn, related to the use of outright muscle to cool down any television reporters too intent on getting "the rest of the story."

Massive, massive, doses of pura lana! :)

Maybe lana enough, who knows?

To be worth literally killing for...

To shut someone up.

Permanently! :)
