St. Mary Magdalene's Catholic Parish's young women played a good role, you can be sure, helping such sisters as the Krazy Chicken's Ms Cheyenne Smith, Ms. Cheyenne Billings, Ms. Brook Gose, Ms. Sahara Rodriguez, Ms. Samantha Moore, Ms. Rachel Nash, Ms. Karley Harris -- and so many more of our B.H.S. champions!
For example, Altar Server Ms. Bianca Terrazas helped her 800 meter Relay Team place first with a time of 1:52.3.
Altar Server Ms. Icela Rueda and her team mates placed second in the 1600 meter relay with a time of 4:21.6.
Ms. Icela Rueda went on to place 6th with a time of 2:44.3 in the 800 meter race.
Ms. Bianca Terrazas' prima hermana, Ms. Natalie Aguirre, la Sra. Elvia Estrada's granddaughter, scored in third place in the 100 meter race with a time of 13.57 .
In the 200 meter race, Ms. Bianca Terrazas placed 3rd with a time of 28.4; her first cousin, Ms. Natalie Aguirre, placed 5th with a time of 29.2 .
Not to be outdone, we are even told that Altar Server Ms. Bianca Martinez "placed second on the shot put competition with a throw of 31'1" and second in the discus with a throw of 108'8" ."
Like wise, "in the long jump competition" Mrs. Elda Terraza's niece Ms. Natalie Aguirre placed second with a jump of 14' 10".
Her cousin Ms. Bianca Terrazas placed third in the high jump by clearing 4' 6" .
Among the 12 B.H.S.lady champions listed as qualifying for the Flatonia Area Meet of Thursday, April 16, 2009, we find that a full 25% are St. Mary Magdalene's Catholic Parish Altar Servers, plus at least one prima hermana:
Ms. Bianca Terrazas, Senior.
Ms. Bianca Martinez, Senior.
Ms. Natalie Aguirre, Senior.
Ms. Icela Rueda, Sophomore.
Congratulations ladies.
Won't be long before we'll have the official news as to how you all did!
