"EL PASO -- A former beauty queen is free on bond after her arrest here on suspicion of drunken driving.

"Ms. Raelene Aguilar was Miss New Mexico USA in 2008.

"She was arrested just after 2 a.m. Thursday after an El Paso officer stopped her for speeding and weaving on North Mesa Street, two blocks south of Interstate 10."

Wow! Move over, Mr. Mel Gibson

"According to the police report, the officer noticed the 26 - year - old University of Texas at El Paso student had droopy, bloodshot eyes and smelled of alcohol.

"She was booked into the El Paso County Jail on a charge of driving while intoxicated.

"She posted a bond of $600 six hours later.

"Her attorney, Mr. Roger Montoya said his client denies the allegations."

Seriously folks, this is the sort of really bad stuff that can happen to any of us, so let us not kid ourselves! :)
