"Heather Calvillo obtained the the Annette Rainville Memorial Scholarship this semester earning $3,000 to complete an internship this summer.

"Rainville was a UTEP communication student who battled through leukemia before she died on June 15, 2005.

"Zita Arocha, communication professor and internship coordinator for the department, combed through every application to determine who would receive the first Annette Rainville Memorial Scholarship..."

And, as we already know, the winner was one:

"Heather Calvillo, senior print media major, [who] is taking 24 credit hours this semester to finish her degree sooner and to continue her aspiration to be a journalist..."
