SYNOPSIS:

"In short Catholics and Catholic institutions are getting their butts kicked by contraception.

"To reuse an old Catholic joke, contraception is where the rubber meets the road.

"It's where the thwarting of God's natural plan for human families is evidenced on a concrete, practical level.

"When contraception is embraced, it suffocates new life, it kills marriages, and it strangles whole school systems.

"And while a Baby Boom era of high fertility can't go on forever, neither can a have - two - kids - and - stop era of low fertility.

"Arguing that it's either two kids or a long string of stair - step babies presents a false dichotomy.

"The are numbers between two and ten.

"Once again, the example of Europe -- always a decade or two ahead of the U.S. in its decadent habits -- provides a cautionary tale writ large ..."
