"[W]omen for the most part have always lived in skirts"

Adapted from this source: "Today's Catholic," September 26, 2008. Dr. Paul Foster's article on page 8, A different type of summer camp.

"NEW BRAUNFELS * Work hard.

"Play hard.

"Pray harder.

"That might be the motto of the St. Michael Squadron summer camps held this past July and August for young men at Mission La Divina Misercordia.

"But the young men weren't the only ones to be challenged.

"Because the mission also sponsored, for the third year, the Queen of Peace Prayer Camp for young women, and initiated this summer the new Junior Queen of Peace Camp.

"Can today's young woman survive a week with no boys, no shops, no cell phones, no Face book?

"Can she survive a whole week without jeans, living completely in a skirt?

"Not only while praying, studying and attending talks, but also while working, playing sports and hiking to the Mission Summit?

"Sister Amapola de Jesús Granados, MDM, who with the assistance of Jackie Hungerford -- directs the Queen of Peace Prayer Groups, smiled at this question.

"She said, With the exception of the 20th century, women for the most part have always lived in skirts. I thought the girls could manage.

"Apparently they did....."

A good read! As it tells us on the bottom of the page:
