OK!

So!

Heather Has Two Mommies, and now, Jesus Does Too!

OK!

Like, ummm, "Who's this Dr. Scott Hahn??!!"

Adapted from this secondary source:

Attorney Christopher A. Ferrara's book, EWTN: A Network Gone Wrong. Pages 195 - 200.

"In an article in the June 2004 issue of New Oxford Review, Edward O'Neill offered an admirably concise explanation of how Hahn's idea makes a shambles of the Church's infallible teaching on the divine processions: [I]f the Spirit has bridal and maternal aspects, they must be in reference to the other two Persons. Brides have husbands and mothers have children, so which of the other two Persons is the Husband and which is the Child? There seems to be only two possible combinations...

A little later, O'Neil goes on to assure us: In Hahn's paradigm, the Trinity must certainly represent the only Family in existence in which a Father and a Son cooperate to have a Mother! 271"

"271 'Scott Hahn's Novelties,' New Oxford Review, June 2004."

Now, we read:

"Hahn's own admirer and fellow theologian, Monica Miller, PhD., voiced similar objections to Hahn's theological tinkering for NOR [ 'The Gender of the Holy Trinity,' New Oxford Review, May 2003, pages 27 - 35].

"Dr. Miller does not hesitate to lay it on the line. There is not a shred of evidence in the biblical account of the Incarnation that the Holy Spirit has a maternal role.

"In rejecting Hahn's suggestion that Mary is the created replication of the Holy Spirit, Miller asks: Is Mary's maternity her own, or is it the Holy Spirit's as well? And if it is the Holy Spirit's as well, then Christ has two mothers -- and that will never work..."

Here is still another take on this fascinating -- if still emerging evidence -- of a growing Dr. Scott Hahn -- Archbishop José H. Gómez -- Fr. Pius Ezeigbo axis right here in Brackettville, Texas:

This item, too, is quoted from this same book we've been using all along, where the author of EWTN is citing a piece by one Dale Vree, "Burn, Baby Burn," in the New Oxford Review (September 2002).

"In the same article Vree pointed out (as Dr. Miller did) that as Mary is female, it follows that if the Holy Spirit is female or feminine, then Jesus had two mommies [Just like Heather! :)], and presto gay is good and so is gay marriage. Dr. Hahn goes so far as to say that the Holy Spirit is bridal and that Mary's maternity is mystically one with that of the Spirit. The imagery is blatantly and scandalously lesbian..."

And so the author opines:

"Vree is not exaggerating this concern..."

Nope!

As those of us who heard Fr. Pius Ezigbo last weekend can testify, he sure is not! :)

Hey! It's your turn, St. Mary Magdalene's CCD teachers!

Have fun trying to explain Father Pius and Dr. Scott Hahn's joint non - Scriptural insanity to your pupils and their teachers this time around!
