August 15th: The Assumption of the Virgin Mary into Heaven


Una Fiesta Mariana Importante / An Important Marian Feast Day!

At the special Vigil Mass of the Assumption at 7:00 p.m. last night at Saint Mary Magdalene's Catholic Church in Brackettville, Texas, from 60 to 70 persons attended, including two fabulous brother and sister altar servers, ages 13 and 15 respectively, one Permanent Deacon, an organist, and last but not least a conscientious American Catholic Priest in beautiful Marian vestments.

At this morning's Holy Day Mass at 7:00 a.m. we had maybe 50 total, but with no altar servers nor organist, just a priest and deacon.

At least several families had indicated their intention to fulfill their Holy Day obligations at one of the regular Roman Catholic churches in Del Rio.
