The Brackett News, Thusday, March 5, 2009.

"St. Mary Magdalene Catholic Parish welcomed new priest Father Pius Ezeigbo in [the] fall of 2008 and he has quickly become a beloved member of the small community of Brackettville.

"Father Pius said he began his service to the Catholic church as altar server of eight in his home country of Nigeria.

"He continued in his faithful walk throughout high school and in his young adult years completed all of the necessary spiritual studies in order to become a priest.

"Although Father Pius had visited the United States several times, his first permanent assignment was two years ago in Floresville [Diocese of San Antonio] and Harlingen [Diocese of Brownsville].

"When asked about adjusting to life in a small town, Father Pius said, Being a small community only strengthens the sense of association and our ability to spread human love. Because it [Brackettville ] is small, it is possible for us to promote love and unity and live as brothers and sisters."
