Brackettville's star role in the still - developing case of Rev. David Zumaya:

An ex - Catholic priest accused of sexual abuse of a minor.

This time, it's Bracketville's turn!

Thank you, Archbishop Patricio Flores...

Source: Notice in the church bulletin of St. Mary Magdalene's Catholic Parish.

From: Archbishop José H. Gomez, S.T.D.

To: All members of the St. Mary Magdalene Parish Family.

"The Archdiocese of San Antonio has received an accusation of sexual abuse of a minor made against Rev. David Zumaya.

"According to the person bringing forward this complaint of alleged abuse [it] occurred in or about 1982.

"Zumaya served at St. Mary Magdalene Church from 1986 to 1995,

"He retired to Mexico in 1998."

Wow! Shades of Sabinal's Rev. Pedro Molina, at least in Fr. Quang's version!!

"He is no longer in ministry [but would that also necessarily pertain to el R.P. Molina, too?] and has no faculties to serve as a priest.

"If you, or anyone you know, has questions or concerns in regard to Zumaya's time of service [or for that matter of Rev. Pedro Luna's more recent monkeyshines both here and in Sabinal] at St. Mary Magdalene, please notify:

"Mr. Steve Martinez, Director of the Office of Victim Assistance and Safe Environment:

"(210) 734 - 7786 or 877 - 700 - 1888.

"I pledge my commitment to continue to work toward making every Catholic Church, School and Institution a safe harbor for all of our children [unlike Archbishop Patrick Flores who made it clear all along that he could have cared less, which may be why he sent Rev. Zumaya here in the first place].

"Please join me in a prayer as we reach out to any and all who may be victims of sexual abuse.

"Archbishop José H. Gomez, S.T.D."
