"Hanoi Catholic activists appeal conviction"

"Media outlets awarded for skewed coverage of trial"

"Eight Vietnamese Catholic activists have appealed their convictions on charges related to their demonstrations outside a Redemptorist monastery in Hanoi.

"An appellate court has agreed to hear their appeal.

"The defendants say they were not guilty of damaging state property, since they were on land legally owned by the Redemptorists."

"Lay Catholic activists in Hanoi expressed outrage that the government honored two media outlets for their coverage of [these] property disputes with the Church.

And so, due to the sloppy press coverage they got, The defendants have now sued the media outlets for liable..."
