¡Adelante, Lynette!

¡Adelante, Daniel!

"When the director of religious formation classes at a local Catholic church held a meeting with catechism instructors in fall 2006, Mr. Kevin Telles was among those teachers.

"He was unaware that a comment about his sexual orientation on his MySpace Web page was the reason for the meeting.

"[S]aid Mr. Telles, a junior clinical laboratory science major, I wasn't aware that they were specificlaly talking about me. The director told me the meeting was about me being gay about a month later. He said parents were concerned about someone like me teaching their kids.

"The director made it clear to Mr. Telles he wouldn't be needed as a catechist the following year.

"The discrimination Mr. Telles said he felt is what The National Day of Silence adresses.

"The celebration started in 1996 when students organized a Day of Silence at the University of Virginia to encourage schools and students to address the problem of anti - LGBT behavior."

"Mr. Alfonso Frias, vice president of the Queer Student Alliance said the majority of UTEP students are open - minded about the queer community: The worst thing I've probably experienced here were weird looks from people when my boyfriend and I were holding hands."

¡Ora, UTEP!

¡Ora, MEChA!

¡Adelante, DESTINO!
