Pope Benedict XVI endorses new order in childrens's reception of sacraments !

Now it will be: Baptism - Confirmation - First Eucharist

"Bishop Samuel Aquila of Fargo, North Dakota:

"
Receives Pope's Praise For Reordering Sacraments"

Snippet from original article by David Kerr, called Bishop Aquila Receives Pope's Praise for Reordering Sacraments. In the Catholic newspaper, The Wanderer. Thursday, March 22, 2012.

As Bishop Aquila himself tells us:

"I was very surprised in what the Pope said to me, in terms of how happy he was that the sacraments of initiation have been restored to their proper order of Baptism, Confirmation, then First Eucharist."

The bishop met with the pope on March 8, and as we are also told:

"Bishop Aquila was one of five bishops from North and South Dakota to meet with Pope Benedict XVI as part of their March 5 - 10 ad limina visit to Rome..."

"The bishop of Fargo said the changes have also distanced the Sacrament of Confirmation from s
ome false theologies that see it as being a sacrament of maturity or as a sacrament for me choosing God..."

Way to go! :)

At last! -- for our "liberal and nominal Roman Catholic" brothers and sisters!

A New York Times ad geared to them:

"It's Time to Consider Quitting the Catholic Church"

"If you remain a good Catholic, you are doing bad to women's rights, etc..."

Snippet from Father John Leies' article in Today's Catholic, Friday, March 23, 2012.

Unhappily enough, Father John A. Leies, SM, STD studiously ignores Father Ron Rohlheiser, OMI own clown - like theological monkeyshines and loyally concentrates his ire on the gloriously whimsical clowns who put the NYT ad into play, instead!

The clowns are calling themselves the Freedom from Religion Foundation, whose Co - President is one Annie Laurie Gaylor, the " author of the ad."

So what?

It has to happen sooner or later, so who cares if 20 - 30 million self - described "liberal and nominal Roman Catholics" haul - a*s out the door??!! :)

It's the likes of Father Ron Rohlheiser, OMI -- who stay -- that are the folks who are most dangerous in the long run -- "what say you say??" -- just stop for a second and think about it .... :)

Once again: Father John Leies, SM, STD. -- knows he had better keep his mouth both shut and padlocked around the likes of good 'ole Father Ron!

For all Father John A. Leies, SM, STD. "is president emeritus of St. Mary's University and was formerly head of the Theology Department there..."

It's August 30, 2011...

Pope Benedict XVI's General Audience:

"Let us remember that the tradition of the ancient Church agrees in attributing to Matthew the paternity of the first Gospel...

"The Gospel of Matthew in Hebrew or Aramaic is no longer extant,

"but in the Greek Gospel that we possess, we still continue to hear,

"in a certain way, the persuasive voice of the publican Matthew,

"who having become an apostle continues to proclaim God's saving mercy to us..."

"As we'll see in Scripture, Mary didn't really get Jesus"

"It takes a whole world to understand a whole Christ"

Snippet from J. Michael Parker's article, Rohlheiser explores salvation [ha, ha, HA!] outside Christianity in lecture series. In Today's Catholic. Friday, March 23, 2012.

"The priest quoted Kenneth Cragg, an Anglican missionary to Islam, as saying that It takes a whole world to understand a whole Christ..."

Rohlheiser then pontificates:

"[W]e should never pretend that we know the whole mystery of Christ.

"As we'll see in Scripture, Mary didn't really get Jesus.

"She got parts of his message, but other parts she didn't quite get; neither did the disciples, and neither do we.

"He was always larger than their understanding..."

Oh my, you don't say?? :)

"La Bibliotecara Sarah Terrazas añadió que por las noches tenían que colocarse lonas sobre las computadoras para protegerlas y evitar que el agua de las goteras del techo pudieran dañarlas.

"Terrazas señaló también que la afombra en una de las oficinas tuvo que ser retirada pues el moho la había arruinado..."

¡Y, como resulta!

"Los Comisionados aprobaron durante la sesión la reparación y sustitución del techo y de la unidad de aire acondicionado de la Biblioteca...."

Jeff Cavins came back to San Antonio recently!

Yeah!

"That guy..."

According to Today's Catholic for Friday, March 23, 2012, 'ole Jeff "wowed the crowd" at a big, American Catholic "mega church!"

What puzzles me about him are just two things:

One: His and Scott Hahn's duo insistence that one of 'ole King David's palace h*os, Bathsheba by name, is well ... sort of a "prophetic precursor" to the Blessed Virgin Mary as Queen Mother of Heaven ... :(

Who are the Church Fathers who supposedly taught all this?

What Church Council codified it, making it binding on all faithful Catholic people everywhere and for all time?? :)

Two: Scott & Jeff tell us the phrase "The NEW EVE" pertains to the Church (alone!)-- not to the Mother of Our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ ... :(

Don't get me wrong!

The Archbishop of San Antonio can continue to subsidize Señor Cavins to the tune of $$$$ in the thousands.

"Absence of Evidence:

"Our political judging should approximate courtroom procedures"

"Our" rough synopsis:

"We have already witnessed previews of the diatribes that will be launched against President Obama: He hates America, He has a hatred for white people. He hates capitalism.

"Could someone please name the source that justifies such assertions?

"At best these are perverted interpretations.

"At worst they are vile slanders..."

BUT!

"The other side knows how to distort evidence as well.

"Now that former Senator Rick Santorum seems to be surging as the possible Republican nominee, look for (if it has not already happened by the time this column appears) liberals to mount an orchestrated ridicule of his approach to human sexuality and his antipathy toward abortion.

"The question is this: if autonomy is the supreme principle in matters of sexual attraction and love, then on what grounds do we deny marriage between five consenting adults or someone who wants to marry a domesticated pet?

"We may not like the examples or analogy, but has anyone offered an answer to his question?

"Similarly, in his opposition to partial birth abortion, Santorum has been criticized for his graphic descriptions of the procedure.

"But why?

"Must such evidence be suppressed..?"

Good point, Professor! :)

"[O]ne third of Latinos in the United States aren't Catholic,

"and they're also standing up against Obama's mandates."

Twenty - three year old Pro - life Latina Activist Ms. Faith Burton quoted in The Wanderer Catholic newspaper, Thursday, March 15, 2012.

These snippets are from an article whose opening words are Latinos will oppose ...

"In addition, she said, one - third of Latinos in the United States aren't Catholic, and they're also standing up against Obama's mandates.

"Burton pointed to comments by Rev. Samuel Rodriguez, president of the National Hispanic Christian Leadership Conference, which represents around 15 million Hispanic evangelicals.

"A February story at the Daily Caller web site said Rodriguez said Obama's order ..."

Now, the reverend's own voice:

Obama's order "has caused an incredible amount of consternation and angst in the Hispanic community ...

"It is un - American to tell my pastor, my mimister, my priest that they have to violate what they believe in ....

"The federal government is coming after us ...

"It is an unporecedented level of intrusion into the free exercise of religion ...

"Across the board, our conversation is that it is a line too far...."

And that's not all!

"The story [also] said Rodriguez said Obama's mandates are changing Hispanic evangelicals' previously friendly attitude toward his administration..."

You bet it has! :)

"Can The President Kill You?"

If the president can kill an American in Yemen, can he do so in Peoria?

By a former Superior Court Judge of New Jersey, Andrew P. Napolitano.

In The Wanderer Catholic newspaper, Thursday, March 15, 2012.

"U.S. Attorney General Eric Holder argued in a speech a week ago at Northwestern University Law School that the president may substitute the traditionally understood due process -- a public jury trial -- with the president's own novel version of it; [and] that would be a secret deliberation about killing.

"Without mentioning the name of the American the president recently ordered killed, Holder suggested that the president's careful consideration of the case of New Mexico - born Anwar al - Awlaki constituted a substituted form of due process.

"Instead of presenting evidence of al - Awlaki's alleged crimes to a grand jury and seeking an indictment and an arrest and a trial, the president presented the evidence to a small group of unnamed advisers, and then he secretly decided that al - Awlaki was such an imminent threat to America 10,000 miles away that he had to be killed.

"This is a logic more worthy of Joseph Stalin than Thomas Jefferson.

"It effectively says that the president is above the constitution and the rule of law, and that he can reject his oath to uphold both.

"If the president can kill an American in Yemen, can he do so in Peoria?

"Even the British king, from whose tyrannical grasp the American colonists seceded, did not claim such powers.

"And we fought a revolution against him ..."

Humm .. is that so? My, oh my! :)

"Divine Mercy at heart of New Evangelization"

By Dan Valenti in the Marian Helper quarterly magazine.

Snippets from the Spring 2012 issue.

www.marian.org

"A primary way the Catholic Church renews itself and maintains its vitality is through evangelization.

"In the words of Pope John Paul II, we are called to proclaim Christ to all peoples.

"Blessed John Paul II brought this mission to renewed focus when he called for the Church to commit all of [its] energies to a new evangelization.

"The Great Mercy Pope said ...'

And, here it is:

"The expression New Evangelization was popularized in the encyclical of Pope Paul VI -- Evangelization in the Modern World -- as a response to the new challenges that the contemporary world creates for the mission of the Church..."

Back to Dan Valenti!

"Like his predecessors, Pope Benedict XVI is emphasizing the need for such evangelization.

"In fact, the Holy Father has chosen the New Evangelization as the theme for the next World Synod of Bishops, scheduled for October at the Vatican.

"Mindful of their mission to evangelize through The Divine Mercy message and enable human hearts to experience God's tender love for them, the Marians continue to spread this message in expanding ways.

"These include the work of their Divine Mercy lay apostolates, Divine Mercy parish missions, assistance to parishes throughout the world, missionary work, and more ..."

"A man dying of AIDS at the Gift of Peace Hospice in Cardinal Donald Wuerl's archdiocese of Washington,

"asked for baptism ..."

Snippets from Cardinal Timothy Dolan's address "to the entire College of Cardinals," reported in Inside The Vatican magazine, March 2012.

Dealing with "the new evangelization," the article is a compilation "by Inside The Vatican Staff."

And the title is: The American Cardinal Speaks.

"A man dying from AIDS at the the Gift of Peace Hospice , adminstered by the Missionaries of Charity in Cardinal Donald Wuerl's archdiocese of Washington, asked for baptism.

"When the priest asked for an expression of faith , the dying man whispered:......"

Like the Good Thief on his cross, this man, too, keeps it both simple and profound!

"All I know is that I'm unhappy, and these sisters are very happy, even when I curse them and spit on them.

"Yesterday I finally asked them why they were so happy.

"They replied Jesus.

" I want this Jesus so I can finally be happy..."

Cardinal Dolan goes to make some points:

"A genuine act of faith, right?

"The New Evangelization is accomplished with a smile, not a frown.

"The missio ad gentes is all about a yes! to everything decent, good, true, beautiful and noble in the human person.

"The Church is about a yes! not a no!"

"Timothy Cardinal Dolan of New York, meet fellow Evangelical Christian Mr. Frank Rodriguez of Brackettville, Texas 78832."

What do you fine gentlemen have in common that gives us an insight into the classical all - American Catholic Evangelical fubar that the Saint Mary Magdalene's fund raising Lenten Fish Fry had this past Friday in their home delivery department??

Would it be that both of you recognize that the real intrinsic value of home delivery to the disabled is an essential component of Christian witness?

That many such good peoples' only contact with any form of Christianity is with friends and neighbors who claim it themselves??

And that when we're perceived as casually blowing our promises off, that there's no logical reason that the people so trashed will not logically assume that ''those Catholic fundraisers are all el su*ko??"

Rest assured, Mr. Frank Rodriguez's little storefront church at Beaumont and El Paso Streets has yet -- in the course of two (2) years or more! -- to ever fail, even when we pay up front which we normally do!

At least in this case we promptly compensated the three (3) good friends and neighbors so negatively impacted $8.00 apiece in cash and jokingly assured them that Krazy Chicken's hamburgers were a good bet! :)

"Catholics and Catholic institutions are getting their butts kicked by contraception

"To reuse an old Catholic joke, contraception is where the rubber meets the road..."

Snippets from an unsigned editorial in the New Oxford Review. March 2012.

It's called Where have all the students gone? "♪Long time passing ...?♫" :)

SYNOPSIS:

"In short Catholics and Catholic institutions are getting their butts kicked by contraception.

"To reuse an old Catholic joke, contraception is where the rubber meets the road.

"It's where the thwarting of God's natural plan for human families is evidenced on a concrete, practical level.

"When contraception is embraced, it suffocates new life, it kills marriages, and it strangles whole school systems.

"And while a Baby Boom era of high fertility can't go on forever, neither can a have - two - kids - and - stop era of low fertility.

"Arguing that it's either two kids or a long string of stair - step babies presents a false dichotomy.

"The are numbers between two and ten.

"Once again, the example of Europe -- always a decade or two ahead of the U.S. in its decadent habits -- provides a cautionary tale writ large ..."

"The Greek term is entos ...."

The Catholic Answers' Magazine Ms. Peggy Frye vs.

"My New Ager friend ..."

In the March - April 2012 issue.

Question:

"My New Ager friend uses Luke 17:21 -- The Kingdom of God is within you -- as a text for his argument that everyone has God within them, thus we are all divine.

"How do I respond?"

Ms. Frye's answer:

""First the passage has nothing to do with the divinity of man, which is why it's important to read the Bible in context.

"When Jesus said the Kingdom of God is within you, he was responding to a question that concerned his messianic claims, which were in contrast with some of the traditional messianic views of that day.

"Second, there's a translation issue to consider.

"The Kingdom of God is within you is not the preferred translation of scholars.

"The Greek term is entos, which indicates a position within an area determined by other objects and distributed among such objects -- among, with.

"According to the footnote on Luke 17:21 found in the United States Conference if Catholic Bishops' website, the Greek preposition translated as among can also be translated as within.

"In the light of other statements in Luke's Gospel about the presence of the kingdom (see Luke 10:9, 11; 11:20), among is to be preferred.

"Your friend's interpretation does not hold water...
